Action: Badminton Practice

Running out of activity on Wednesday afternoon where I got plenty of time for free time make me bored. I saw one of my friend that went to the gym for a badminton practice. So I join them.
I am not a beginner on badminton sports. I know the basic skills on playing it. I am pretty confidence of my skills on it. So without any warming up I just hit the field and start playing like a pro. In conclusion, I can stand up until the match is done. I am running out of stamina. I do not have any strategy on playing the badminton. I just make sure that I hit the shuttle cocks and it does not drop on my area so my opponent won't gain any point.

After the practice, all I can feel is my body is totally hurt because I did not warm up. Even though I play soccer as another sports. There are several muscles that I do not exercise on when playing soccer and it is the first time that that muscle is got exercise. Now I am aware how much important is warming up before doing any sport activity is.

Creativity: Praise and Worship Team

After several weeks for practice we are ready for the real event. The event was Youth Camp 2010/2011. The event was held on 20 up to 22 October 2010. Our team has a chance to play twice while the other team were usually play only once. This is a privilege for us. Of course the audience are different. The praise and worship will be boring if we play the same songs to the same audience.

There was a some slight of changes that we made. We do not perform of the song because one of the member of our team is not really confident to play it. So we only play four songs in one time. We played it soft and clean. I think we did a great job. I am looking for another event for our team to play again.

The next event that will come is Christmas celebration that will be held on December. Our supervisor told us to prepare several songs to be played in that event. Because we have plenty of time to prepare, we try to do some experiment on how we bring the song. We afraid that if we play it pop, the same way that we played it before, the audience will get bored. So we experimented on playing it by jazz and rock.

Action: Soccer Practice

There are a bit of changes in this activity due to the left off of several members of this activity. The current members are too few to have a proper match. In order to overcome this problem, we gladly ask middle school player to join us.

After a few week of absent in practicing soccer, we start practicing again when they middle school player are present. In this activity now, there are two groups. Us, the senior school and them, the middle school. The training was held differently. We have harder training because our physical fitness capable to do so while they have a lighter one.

When it comes for us to have a practice match, the two groups are mixed equally to have a fair match. The match was pretty fun but sometimes it can turn to very annoying. The reason is the middle school players sometimes can not keep up when playing with us the senior school. So we have to slow it down so they can keep up playing with us.

Action: Student Council Leadership Camp (20-21/8)

This year is my turn to give leadership camp to the future student council. It is so fun that I will be the one that ask and command them. Last two years were enough for me to experience the hard and stiff activities that the host give us. Now, the opportunity is mine to give make them feel the hard and stiff activities.

The main objective of this camp is to teach leadership. Leadership is the major skill that you should have in running this life. No matter what you will become in the future, you will become a leader of others or at least of your selves. Discipline is the key terms of leadership. Without it, there is no meaning of leadership.

There are lot of activities that I arranged and ask the participant to do. From making talent show, marching, outbound activities, and skill challenge. I enjoy most of the part of the activities. Being the host does not mean that I do not learn anything. By being the host I learn more about leadership itself. How to manage a camp-like event where everything should be organize so that the participant is satisfy to spend their time in our camp. I also should teach them the lesson that I learned in this previous years where I got the opportunity to become one of the leader in my school.

Action: Driving Lesson on Summer Break

As an International Baccalaureate students, I never really have a holiday or even a break. They always have something for us to do. For example, this summer break we have to do CAS. Where we should run, playing, and enjoying our relaxing time on summer.
I decided to do action in which I will do the driving lesson. In my country, Indonesia, at my year - 17 years old - is already permitted to have a driving license. So I use this opportunity to make it as an action for my CAS
Besides learning how to gas, brake, steer right, and steer left. I also learn the manner of driving. Where I cannot speed exceed 80km/h in public road and 100km/h in highway road.
To learn how to drive is not an easy thing to do. Especially if there is someone sitting besides you that always watch you from making mistake. It can be helpful sometime but the presence of the supervisor is more threatening.
I participate in global issue where 17 years old citizen can make a driving license and I learn a new skill which is learn how to drive.

Creativity: Youth Camp 2010 Praise & Worship Team (20 & 27/9)

This year I got the opportunity to be one of the member of Praise & Worship team again.
This year I will play guitar as the instrument of the band and we will praise and worship God by playing some songs. Here are the list of the songs that we will practice and play on the Youth Camp

Every week, we practice every Monday. The youth camp will be on 20 - 22 October. I still got several weeks to be prepare and practice before the show time. I learn how to manage time efficiently because as you may know that in year 12, time is not mine. I also learn how to work with people and learn new skill on my music skills.

Service: Drama Production - Costume Department

I join the drama production this year and be a part of costume department
I do not work alone. I work with other students from different grades that I do not know.
Here is my job description

• Meet weekly or biweekly, as a group, with Miss Mandy after school to discuss ideas and progress.
• Create a measurement template, as a group, for each actor's measurements. You may create one at the beginning of the school year, and I will make copies for all actors.
• Research costume designs for each actor.
• Analyze costumes from past productions to see if we can reuse them.
• Work within a budget to create the costumes. You will need to have all receipts signed and/or stamped to be reimbursed for the money spent.
• Organize all work information for yourself, for the group, and for Miss Mandy.
• Bring ALL costumes by the end of October.
• Attend all rehearsals and performances to monitor costumes and to assist with the actors' costume changes.

Service: SPH S.A.T.U Sport Festival 2010 (4-6/2)

This year I got a chance to be an event holder of my school's yearly event. I and the other members of student council has to create a sports event. So we struggle back and forth to create this event.
Our sports festival named S.A.T.U which held on February 4 - 6, 2010. We invited lot of schools around Bogor and Jakarta to be participated on our events. There are four kinds of sports that we compete on this event which are Soccer, Basketball, Tennis, and Modern Dance.

I got the responsibility to manage the soccer part. So I have to be the person in charge on the soccer field. I handle the re-registration and supervising the matches. Besides that, I also involved in raising fund for the events.

Service: Be Usher in SPHSCCYC Fund Rising Concert (13/3)

I was very grateful that I had a special chance to selected as an usher on the fund rising concert of my school's choir. It was such a privilege to me because it is a serious event that included in-school people and out-school people.
I was assigned to guard the entrance door. Greet all the guests with smile. The concert start at 18.30 and the door was opened on 18.00 So before the door was opened, I have to be prepared of all the things.
It is such a simple things to do, just guarding the door and greet all the guests. But, the pressure of all things, guests, other ushers, and officials, make me so nervous. I have to be as good as possible to attract all the guests.
Pak Daniel, the coordinator of the events, trust all of the ushers to be generous as much as possible to the guests so they will willingly support our schools' choir by sponsorship or donation through the auction on the event.
